Thoughts in Motion:
Conversations on Time, Space, and the Beauty Within

November 2025. Maison FAWO

In a world that moves endlessly, beauty is never static — it breathes, shifts, and transforms with us. Thoughts in Motion” is a series of intimate conversations with creators who live at the intersection of art, time, and presence. Each story reveals a connection between stillness and motion, between how we design, and how we feel. This dialogue aims to trace how jewellery, like memory and emotion, captures the invisible rhythm of being.

Iris- The Flow of Time and Memory

Iris moves fluidly across disciplines: writer, photographer, educator, podcaster, and curator. Through travel, she explores the dialogue between body and spirit, observing how movement reshapes our perception and how unfamiliarity awakens something new within us. Her words carry a timeless, forward-moving clarity, much like Maison FAWO’s jewellery, enduring, fearless, and full of quiet strength.

If you were a natural element right now, which would you be?

think it’s water! Lately I’ve been craving the feeling of learning, to move through new spaces the way water does, taking in what I need and carrying a part of myself forward.

How do you ground yourself when life is moving fast?

“Quiet” has nothing to do with noise, it depends on whether I’m present. If my body is doing one thing while my mind drifts somewhere else, that’s when I feel unsettled. Even when I’m constantly moving from one place to another, as long as I’m fully in the moment, my mind can stay quiet. When I need to return to that quiet state, I read, take photos, and write. Those are the things that bring me back to myself.

“When we repeat the same things, time feels faster; but when we try something new, our senses sharpen, and time stretches.”

Does time feel stretched or folded when you travel?

I once came across a thought I really liked: when we repeat the same things, time feels faster; but when we try something new, our senses sharpen, and time stretches. That’s why traveling feels different to me. It teaches me to see things with a fresh perspective every time. So the days feel fuller, slower, and beautifully long.

Is freedom a state of being, or a choice you make?

My interpretation of “freedom” is quite broad, it’s not just about the ability to move from one place to another. Travel has taught me a different meaning of freedom. I love trying new things when I travel alone, both physically and emotionally. There’s always a bit of fear when stepping into something unfamiliar, but once I actually do it, I feel myself moving through that fear. And to me, that feeling of crossing through fear is a form of freedom. So freedom, for me, is both a state of being and a choice.

Sharon- The Design of Inner Stillness

After years in Paris, Sharon brought her warm, refined, and deeply human-centered design philosophy to projects around the world. Working as an interior designer, Sharon believes that a space is not merely a vessel for living; it is an extension of one’s inner order. Our conversation moved from “designing spaces” to “designing the self,” exploring how she returns to her core identity while navigating different roles in life. Her steady, gentle aesthetics embody the essence of modern womanhood that Maison FAWO seeks to celebrate.

What does your inner garden look like?

The “garden” in my mind is something more abstract — it’s really the moments when I get to be alone with myself. A quiet space to think, a cup of coffee, or a slow, comforting bath. Those small pockets of solitude feel like a garden to me: peaceful, grounding, and deeply my own.

Do you think a space can hold the trace of our emotions?

I believe every space carries its own emotions and its own soul. When I design, I always begin by understanding my clients’ lifestyles in a holistic way, because a space is ultimately a sanctuary. The rhythms of a person’s daily life gradually shape the true image of the space they live in, which is why I feel that the soul of every home is entirely unique.

Between the practical and the ideal, how do you decide what stays and what you let go of?

Take having a child, for example. On the day I gave birth, I wrote a letter to myself — a guideline of the kind of person, and the kind of mother, I hoped to become. A clear vision of the future I wanted. This habit has followed me through every stage of my life. Keeping a blueprint in my mind helps me stay aligned with the life I want to build. And because that vision is so clear, it becomes easy to let go of anything that doesn’t belong to that path.

If “time” were a design element, how would you express it?

I’m drawn to materials and designs that reveal time, pieces that change subtly as the day or season shifts. A window, for example, lets light move differently from different times in the day. Those small variations in a space make time feel visible, and I love noticing those quiet changes.

Nicy- Light and Self-Reflection

Working within the fast-evolving world of aesthetic medicine, Nicy brings the conversation back to the “light within.” Beyond her role as a doctor, she finds balance through movement, writing, and honest self-reflection. To her, mirrors reveal the exterior, but time reveals the soul. Through Nicy’s reflections, she learns, and teaches us that light appears when we choose to be honest and stay open. And Maison FAWO’s pieces accompany her gently through every version of herself.

Do you think time changes the way we define beauty?

Absolutely — our sense of beauty evolves with time. On a personal level, it shifts as our experiences accumulate, layer by layer. I think that kind of change is completely natural. As long as your aesthetic is grounded in an honest understanding of who you are, then it will always be the right one for you.

Do you think the body remembers emotion?

I think of the body as a container for our emotions. When it holds too much, it’s almost like a computer crashing. That’s why movement feels so important to me, it gives all that stored emotion somewhere to go. And once the body is taken care of, the mind usually follows.

When people long for an “ideal state,” do you think it’s actually a desire to feel more at ease within themselves?

My definition of an ideal state is simply returning to inner calm. When we turn “being calm” into something we chase, it becomes easy to judge ourselves whenever we fall short. We all want to become the version of ourselves we imagine, but I don’t think we need to impose strict rules on who we should be. Life comes with its own rise and fall. Inner calm comes from accepting ourselves exactly as we are in the present moment.

“I believe that when someone has a grounded sense of self, they can stay centered while still interacting gracefully with the world around them.”

How do you differentiate between expressing yourself and performing for approval?

“People-pleasing” sounds negative at first, but the truth is, we’re social beings. Interaction itself is a kind of performance, a way of presenting a version of ourselves to the world. Wanting to please someone can simply mean wanting to show up as our better selves.
So the question I ask myself is: Is the version I’m showing the one that I truly stand behind? I believe that when someone has a grounded sense of self and a clear understanding of who they are, they can stay centered while still interacting gracefully with the world around them.
